One-to-one mentorship  ·  Conway, South Carolina  ·  Available remotely nationwide

Your story isn't finished.
Let's write the chapter that's finally, fully yours.

A private, year-long mentorship for people in midlife and beyond, using archetypal psychology and one-to-one guidance to move through loss, reinvention, or creative hunger and come out with a clear sense of purpose and a plan to act on it.

Not a course. Not a workshop. One guide, one conversation at a time, for a year.

Mythic Mentor is mentorship, not therapy. Sharon A. Hart is not a licensed therapist or clinical counselor. This work is not a substitute for licensed mental health treatment. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or contact a licensed mental health professional. Privacy Policy  ·  Terms of Service

"You have spent a lifetime accumulating a story. The question is not whether it is finished. The question is whether you are the one writing it."

– Sharon A. Hart

What This Is

Not a course.
A guided year.

Mythic Mentor draws on archetypal psychology, the study of the recurring characters and story patterns, the hero, the exile, the sage, that shape how people understand their own lives, and on the hero's journey, the arc those stories tend to follow. Together they offer something most midlife transition resources skip entirely: a guide who meets you in the full psychological complexity of where you are, not where a curriculum thinks you should be.

The framework is Jungian in its foundations. The approach is one-to-one, private, and adapted entirely to the particular terrain of your life. Sessions run sixty minutes, twice monthly, by phone, video, or in person in Conway, South Carolina.

By the end of the year:

  • You have identified your mythic archetype and understood the story you have been living inside it.
  • You have processed what needs to be released: grief, old identities, the chapters that finished before you were ready.
  • You have rebuilt a creative practice that belongs to you and no one else.
  • You hold a concrete sense of purpose and a plan to act on it.

The Program

One year. Two phases.
Your story.

The program moves through two distinct phases of six months each, meeting twice monthly. Each phase has its own psychological arc and its own ceremony of completion.

Phase One  ·  Six Months

The Descent

Excavation, Archetypal Discovery & Creative Reawakening

The first phase is an inward journey. We begin with your archetypal discovery, identifying the mythic figure that most closely reflects your particular way of moving through the world.

From there, we go into your story: the myth you have been living, the creative self you set aside, the grief you have been carrying, and the unlived life that has been signaling its readiness to emerge.

  • Archetypal discovery and mythic identity work
  • Story excavation and narrative rewriting
  • Shadow work and creative reclamation
  • Relational mapping and renegotiation
  • Grief work and the composting of experience
  • Threshold ceremony at completion

Phase Two  ·  Six Months

The Return

Embodiment, Voice, Legacy & Purposeful Creation

The second phase turns outward. The excavation is complete; now we build. Your creative practice deepens and takes on deliberate form. Your voice gains authority. Your legacy intention becomes concrete.

You design a creative project or contribution that is genuinely, unmistakably yours and begin to bring it into the world with the full weight of everything you have learned about yourself.

  • Visioning and creative architecture
  • Creative practice design and discipline
  • Voice development and expressive authority
  • Sharing work and navigating vulnerability
  • Legacy definition and contribution design
  • Return ceremony and advanced work option

Portrait of Sharon A. Hart, artist and mentor based in Conway, South Carolina

Artist. Mentor. Woman in progress.

Your Mentor

I am not a bystander
to this work.

I am a woman in my late sixties. I hold a D.Phil. from Exeter College, Oxford, and work as a professional artist, an entrepreneur, a former corporate executive, a teacher, a mother, and a person who has moved through the particular kind of freedom and uncertainty that arrives when the roles that defined you for decades begin to shift.

I have done this descent myself. I know what it costs and what it returns. The creative hunger that arrives at this stage of life (the sense that something essential is demanding expression before there is no more time) is not a crisis. It is a calling, and it deserves to be met with the same seriousness you would bring to anything that matters.

I created Mythic Mentor because I could not find the kind of companionship I needed for my own transition: something that honored both the psychological complexity of this stage and the creative hunger that comes with it. Something that spoke to people as whole, intelligent, and capable human beings at a genuine threshold.

Some of what I bring to this work:

  • Visual artist with an active studio practice — see sharonahart.com
  • D.Phil., Exeter College, Oxford, England
  • Former executive, Borg-Warner Health Products (Maryland Heights, MO)
  • Entrepreneur, advocate, and educator across multiple disciplines
  • Archetypal framework informed by the anthropology of Professor Rodney Needham and Patrick Beckett
  • Mother and person who has navigated the transitions I guide others through

I have navigated this terrain. I know where the ground holds and where it does not. I would be honored to walk into it with you.

– Sharon A. Hart

Is This the Right Fit?

Good work only happens
with the right match.

This work asks something real of both of us. Before you reach out, it's worth being honest about whether this is the right moment and the right kind of support.

This Is Likely a Fit If

  • You are stable enough to do reflective, sometimes difficult, work — not in the middle of an acute crisis
  • Something in your life has genuinely shifted — a loss, a retirement, an ending — and you want to meet it with intention rather than wait it out
  • You are willing to be honest with yourself, even when it's uncomfortable
  • You want a guide and a structure, not someone to hand you an answer
  • You can commit to the pace of real change, which is rarely fast

This Isn't the Right Fit (Yet) If

  • You are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm — please call or text 988 first, or contact a licensed mental health provider
  • You are looking for diagnosis or treatment of a mental health condition — that requires a licensed therapist, not a mentor
  • You want a quick fix or a fixed set of steps to follow — this moves at the pace of real change, not a program
  • You aren't yet ready to look honestly at your own patterns, only at what other people have done to you
  • You're in the middle of an acute crisis and need more than a twice-monthly rhythm can hold. Concierge Mentorship may be the better starting point

If you read the left column and felt recognized, that's usually a good sign. If you're not sure, the free discovery call exists precisely to find out together.

A Different Pace, When Needed

Some transitions
will not wait for a scheduled session.

A sudden loss. A divorce that reorders everything. The end of a career that was also an identity. Or a threshold that belongs to an organization you lead: a succession, a restructuring, a leadership team that has outgrown its own story. Concierge Mentorship offers the same archetypal work at a depth and frequency that matches what you are carrying, with direct access between sessions when something urgent surfaces. It runs as two tracks: one for individuals, one for executives and organizations.

What Clients Say

The work,
in their own words.

I came into this work as a skeptic. Sharon didn't try to convince me of anything. She just asked questions nobody had ever asked me before. By the third session I realized I had been living someone else's definition of a successful life for forty years.

Robert K.  ·  Retired engineer, Myrtle Beach SC

After selling my company I thought I would feel free. Instead I felt completely lost. Sharon helped me find a new story to live into, one that felt truer than anything I had built before.

Marcus T.  ·  Former CEO, Charleston SC

My therapist was helpful for processing the past, but Sharon helped me figure out what I actually wanted to build next. The mythic framework sounds abstract until you are in it, and then it becomes the most useful map you have ever held.

Diane W.  ·  Executive, Columbia SC

Sharon helps you remember who you actually are. Within three months I had left a position that was slowly killing my spirit and taken the leap I had been too afraid to make for years.

Daniel M.  ·  Former finance director, Austin TX
